Rune Carlsen

I am a 40 year old photographer located in Oslo in Norway.

My photographic endeavour is a continuation of my childhood adventures exploring my local woodlands, and my love of nature. Through photography I aim to encapsulate those sacred moments when all the elements of nature come together.

Have you ever been outside an early autumn morning, when the crisp hoar frost covers the landscape? Or perhaps in an old growth forest enshrouded in mist, exactly when the first sunrays break through? – Then you’ll know what I mean!

But composing the forest is an arduous task. To seek out order in the chaotic beauty represents a lifetime challenge of learning, caring and refinement of skills. I find profound meaning and enjoyment in this journey – whether it’s exploring new, uncharted territory or revisiting those woodlands I’ve grown so fond of. Leaving no trails, I only bring home those serene moments in time that conveys the atmospheric beauty of the forest. Hopefully you’ll find a similar appreciation of the enchanting woodlands when you look at my pictures.

Although my photography gravitates around forests, there is no dogmas. Opportunistic photos of wildlife encountered through my journeys are all welcome to join my portfolio, as well as enchanting waterfalls and spectacular mountain vistas.

I hope you’ll find your visit to my webpage time well spent. Don’t hesitate to engage with me if you would like. All prints are also available for buying – For now, please email me for an inquiry until the webshop is ready (under construction).
